2022-2023年のアメリカで飼育ミンクと野生オジロジカに新型コロナデルタ株が再出現した研究

新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）は、私たちの生活に大きな変化をもたらしました。このウイルスは、ヒトの間だけでなく、動物にも感染することが知られています。特にミンクは新型コロナウイルスに感受性が高く、過去には農場での大規模な集団感染が報告されてきました。しかし、2021年以降、ミンクにおけるウイルスの具体的な広がりについては、あまり詳しい情報がありませんでした。
今回ご紹介する研究は、2022年から2023年にかけてアメリカで行われた、飼育されている健康なミンクと野生のオジロジカにおける新型コロナウイルスの感染状況を明らかにするものです。この研究では、ヒトの間ではすでに過去の株とされていた「デルタ株」が、ミンクや野生動物の間で再出現しているという驚くべき事実が判明しました。
🔬 研究方法
